Requirements:
BA/BSW Preferred; experience in social services, housing, and child welfare.

Job description: Act as support staff for social workers, with particular focus on assisting residents in obtaining housing for discharge and attending court for permanency hearings.

General responsibilities:
• Attend team meetings, treatment conferences and any other meetings deemed necessary by the Clinical Director.
• Read log daily when entering the building
• Work two evenings a week until 8:00pm

Coordinator of Clinical Services Position - The Catholic Big Sisters and Big Brothers

Position overview:
The part time Coordinator of Clinical Services must be Spanish-speaking and will provide short- and long-term family counseling to low income children and their families using a Family Systems methodology. Family systems counseling requires the clinician to engage all members of the family (including resistant parties) in a dialogue that explores family relationships (both strengths and challenges), boundary issues, and dysfunctional patterns.

Responsibilities:
• Provide long term family counseling to a caseload of approximately 10-15 families. Clients are seen on a weekly basis for approximately 1 hour.
• When necessary, work with staff to collaborate with outside service providers including teachers, therapists, and child protective workers to ensure appropriate service delivery.
• Complete weekly casenotes to document interventions with the families.
• Participate in regular supervision/check-in with Clinical Coordinator to review progress with cases.
• Support and uphold the agency’s vision and mission as a family centered, and system oriented service provider.

Children’s Corps

Children’s Corps is an innovative program created to equalize life opportunities for children and families involved in the child welfare system. Inspired by the Teach for America model Children’s Corps looks for individuals who are dedicated to helping vulnerable children and families. Once selected into the Corps, members enter our five-week summer leadership academy, after which they are placed as caseworkers in our partner child welfare agencies throughout New York City and Westchester. Corps members commit for two years and are provided with a full salary, benefits and further training by the agencies. During these two years Children’s Corps provides on-going support, mentoring, and professional development for its members as well as for the agency as a whole. This holistic approach helps ensure not only that Corps members are prepared, but also that the work environment is as supportive as possible.

Every day, child welfare workers across the country interact with children and their families and have a substantial impact on their lives. Finding the right people to do this work is critical. About Sweet Blackberry: Our mission is to bring little known stories of African American achievement to children everywhere. Unfortunately, our schools often lack the time and resources to teach our children more than a handful of stories of African Americans in history. Chief Clinical Officer - Palladia, Inc.

Palladia serves largely urban, poor individuals and families of color and is nationally recognized for its innovative service delivery in the fields of substance abuse, homelessness, HIV, mental illness and trauma, domestic violence, criminal justice services, and family services. Palladia currently serves approximately 1700 persons per day in 28 distinct human service programs including: residential substance abuse treatment programs; outpatient and transitional treatment programs; homeless and domestic violence shelters; alternative to incarceration programs; permanent supportive housing programs; and numerous special initiatives and collaborations.

Job Description:
Palladia (www.palladiainc.org) seeks an energetic, collaborative leader with a sound clinical background to bring his/her staff leadership skills, strategic vision, financial savvy, and astute sense of the funding and regulatory landscape to a strong and adaptable New York City multi-service nonprofit.

The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) is a newly-created position that, when filled, will merge two divisions at Palladia: Residential Services; and Housing, Outpatient/Community and Centralized Services. As a result, the CCO will oversee the work of hundreds of staff, managing a multi-million dollar annual budget and serving more than 6,000 clients each year in residential substance abuse treatment, out-patient treatment, mental health, supported housing, family, domestic violence, criminal justice, vocational and homeless services. Palladia currently serves approximately 1700 persons per day in 28 distinct human service programs Palladia has been at work for 40 years (having started as Project Return in 1970) and continues to diversify its offerings and introduce evidence-based clinical practices to meet the ever-changing needs of men, women and families. Under the direction of the President/CEO, the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) will set Palladia’s clinical program standards of care, integrating evidence-based and state-of-the-art therapies with on-going in-house clinical practices. The CCO will be responsible for the development and delivery of high quality and efficient clinical treatment and human service programs for all Palladia clients, residents and tenants. The CCO will also ensure that the division’s newly-merged employees receive exemplary training, support and opportunities for skill development so that they in turn carry out their work in a way that reflects best practices and the highest standards of care, accountability and integrity. The successful candidate will be a collaborative and seasoned leader who: instills confidence in executive colleagues and Board members; can support, inspire and include experienced senior managers; and has an entrepreneurial spirit, offers new ideas and welcomes constructive feedback. The CCO will collaborate closely with a newly-created Chief Operating Officer position. Both the CCO and COO will be members of Palladia’s Executive Committee (EC) and, in accordance with Palladia’s vision, mission and values, will plan strategies and set organizational goals.

OTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establishes clinical and administrative performance goals and motivates the team to meet those goals;
• In collaboration with the COO, supports an existing QA program that meets all licensing and funding requirements, and motivates staff teams to integrate Continuous Quality Improvement activities into their work;
• Maps unmet needs in the NYC metropolitan area and develops plans, alone or in collaboration with partner organizations, to address these gaps;
• Maintains and continues to improve Palladia’s industry leadership position through participation at national and local gatherings and forums;
• Develops reports to analyze and monitor program expenses and revenues, quality assurance goals, performance targets, research projects, and continuous quality improvement goals;
• Analyzes clinical research, evaluation data, and quality assurance reports to modify programs as the CCO and clinical team deem necessary;
• Develops concept/white papers to distribute to professional forums and government agencies to maintain Palladia as a “thought leader” in the industry;
• Regularly reports to the President/CEO, the EC, and the Board of Directors regarding clinical aspects of Palladia’s programming, as well as develops and presents new policies;
• Supervises up to five direct reports;
• Establishes financial requirements to achieve required goals and, by working with the CFO, ensure that the adopted budgets meet such goals;
• Ensures compliance with Federal, State, County and City Agency rules and regulations;
• Ensures compliance with and monitors grants and research initiatives;
• Assists in fundraising efforts to explain the clients’ needs to potential donors, which may include conducting program tours and describing program goals an results; and
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Clinician - PARTNERS Program at St. John's University

Organization Background:
The PARTNERS Program is a clinical research program designed to serve traumatized, multi-cultural preschoolers, children, and adolescents, and their families. Program staff includes licensed psychologists, post-doctoral fellows, licensed social workers, graduate students, and undergraduate volunteers. Under the leadership of Dr. Elissa Brown, licensed clinical psychologist, we provide outreach, assessment, psychotherapy, and case management services in both our clinic and community-based sites. PARTNERS aims to provide these services in multiple languages. We also conduct community-building efforts to disseminate these trauma-informed, evidence-based services. Job Description:
PARTNERS seeks a qualified clinician to provide empirically-supported assessment and therapy for traumatized, multi-cultural youth, and their caregivers in traditional and non-traditional outpatient settings. Position is part of a multi-year, federally funded grant (Project CONNECT) to evaluate evidence-based practices for children exposed to violence. Project CONNECT will utilize culturally adapted cognitive-behavioral therapy for Latino and African-American children who have experienced physical abuse/assault, sexual abuse/assault, dating violence, and/or witnessed domestic violence. The clinician will work with families at the PARTNERS Program clinic at the St. John’s University Center for Psychological Services and community-based sites in Queens, NY.

New Social Work Child Welfare Congressional Fellowship

The Social Work Policy Institute (SWPI) of the NASW Foundation has launched a new fellowship, the Social Work Child Welfare Congressional Fellowship (CWCF). The fellowship will provide an invaluable public policy learning experience for an experienced child welfare social worker, who will spend one year working on child welfare legislation in the U.S. Senate.
