Program Manager
ASTEP is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 whose mission is to create and support programs that result in long-term employment for adults with Asperger Syndrome and high functioning autism. ASTEP is an employer focused organization whose goal is to create partnerships between employers and vocational support professionals to create a successful workplace environment for individuals with Aspergers/high functioning autism (AS/HFA). ASTEP educates employers about the skills and talents of individuals with AS/HFA, encourages them to commit to hire these individuals into professional level positions, and then engages vocational support organizations and/or professionals to develop the job candidates and the needed accommodations, provide onsite training to the employers, and job coaching to the employees.

ASTEP is seeking a Program Manager to:
• Identify and maintain database of programs currently supporting adults with AS/HFA, throughout the U.S., that will be able to identify appropriate candidates for employment, recommend necessary accommodations, provide training to employers and job coaching for employees
• Provide assistance to President and Executive Director in identifying conferences/employers for presentations on diversity and inclusion, including preparation of presentations
• Assist in the implementation of training and recruiting programs with employers and employment/vocational support professionals
• Conduct web-based research, reviews of periodicals and other materials to develop comprehensive resource guides and identify latest news in employment for individuals on the autism spectrum
• Prepare materials to be used for Advisory Board and Board of Director meetings; and for press distribution
• Follow current trends/changes in supportive services for adults with AS/HFA
• Update and maintain mailing lists for fundraising, media contacts, employer contacts and employment/vocational support program contacts
