Children’s Corps

Children’s Corps is an innovative program created to equalize life opportunities for children and families involved in the child welfare system. Inspired by the Teach for America model Children’s Corps looks for individuals who are dedicated to helping vulnerable children and families. Once selected into the Corps, members enter our five-week summer leadership academy, after which they are placed as caseworkers in our partner child welfare agencies throughout New York City and Westchester. Corps members commit for two years and are provided with a full salary, benefits and further training by the agencies. During these two years Children’s Corps provides on-going support, mentoring, and professional development for its members as well as for the agency as a whole. This holistic approach helps ensure not only that Corps members are prepared, but also that the work environment is as supportive as possible.

Every day, child welfare workers across the country interact with children and their families and have a substantial impact on their lives. Finding the right people to do this work is critical. Children’s Corps is seeking highly motivated individuals from all backgrounds, majors and/or professional experiences.
