MSM Project Coordinator - APICHA

Position Title: MSM Project Coordinator

Reports to: LGBT Program Manager

Position Summary:
Responsible for day-to-day operations of HIV prevention program targeting Asian & Pacific Islander (A&PI) men who have sex with men (MSM).

FLSA Status: Exempt

Duties and Responsibilities include:
Responsible for all aspects of YMSM and MSM project implementation with Community Health Education Coordinator.
Organize and provide community health screening events.
Recruit and provide multiple-session individual counseling for HIV risk reduction.
Provide HIV counseling and testing using oral and finger HIV rapid test technology following the agency protocol.
Work with various organizations to carry out program tasks.
Conduct program evaluation and quality assurance activities working closely with the program manager.
Create, edit, update, and revise curricula and program protocol.
Recruit and supervise a pool of 2-6 peer counselors.
Work collaboratively as a team member of LGBT program.
Identify venues for client recruitment for LGBT program as well as other agency services including Primary Care services.
Conduct workshops, support groups, and presentations.
Work collaboratively with other staff within and in other departments in particular to client recruitment, program promotion and program planning.
Meet requirements set by funding sources and by the agency, including timely submission of project reports and all required data entry.
Represent APICHA to articulate mission and services provided.
Any other activities as assigned.

HIV Prevention Education Program Manager - The Partnership for the Homeless

The Partnership for the Homeless is a 26 year-old nationally recognized advocacy and direct service organization working to end homelessness in New York City. Using a community-based approach that integrates advocacy, research and direct services, we are working to identify those systems and structures that keep communities entrenched in poverty, and create responses to address them.

The Partnership has an immediate opening for a creative and energetic individual to develop and manage HIV prevention and education activities out of its Family Resource Center in the East New York section of Brooklyn.

The Program Manager will be responsible for coordinating activities of the SISTA project in East New York. The Program Manager will also partner with leadership at the Family Resource Center to distill lessons learned from front-line staff, in order to better understand the intersection between housing instability and HIV prevention, to better integrate HIV prevention messages into services, and to develop innovative HIV prevention and education interventions for clients of the Family Resource Center and residents of East New York.

Responsibilities include:
* Planning and developing program curricula, including developing evaluation tools to monitor program goals;
* Identifying and participating in opportunities to promote The Partnership’s mission, programs and services in the broader community;
* Overseeing peer training and development;
* Coordinating with staff across Partnership programs to link clients to resources and services;

· Partnering with staff across Partnership departments to quantify program impact in order to develop best practices and to identify emerging trends that can be addressed through advocacy efforts; and,

* Compiling and reviewing program data and preparing monthly funder reports.


Candidates for the Program Manager position should have:

* Master’s degree in social work, public health or a related field and at least 3 years experience working with populations affected by HIV/AIDS and/or homelessness;
* Experience supervising staff ;
* Experience in curriculum development and staff training;
* The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and problem solve;
* Strong written and oral communications skill, bi-lingual, (Spanish), preferred;
* Strong computer skills; and,
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Description:
The Brooklyn Community Pride Center (BCPC) is a brand new organization committed to providing social, educational, and recreational services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and families in Brooklyn. As part of our growing youth programming, we are developing an LGBTQ youth Book Club and we are looking for English teachers or people with related experience to facilitate the meetings. We are looking for someone who has experience working with youth (ages 12-15) and is familiar with LGBTQ-themed and authored young adult literature.

The book club will take place once per week, from 4:30pm to 6pm in downtown Brooklyn at the Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice. We plan to read one book per month, and estimate the group size to be about 10-20 participants. The facilitator would collaborate with the BCPC on creating the reading list and format for the meetings.
