The Grand Central Neighborhood Mainchance Drop-In Center, a drop-in center for homeless adults, is seeking a MICA Specialist to work with mentally ill clients, assisting them in obtaining housing and integrating back into the community. The MICA Specialist reports to the Assistant Director of Social Services and is responsible for:
• Managing a caseload of clients with a primary Axis I major mental health disorder
• Assisting clients with engaging in appropriate care, understanding their diagnosis and corresponding medication regimen, gathering necessary identification, establishing income, gathering necessary documents to complete a HRA 2010E housing application
• Preparing progress notes and psychosocial histories
• Conducting groups related to the needs of the homeless population
• Maintaining accurate charts
• Networking with community health care providers to coordinate care and provide appropriate referrals
• Providing some crisis intervention as needed
• Run groups on a weekly basis

Additional Requirements:
Must have a Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field, with experience working with the homeless population.
He/she will have strong writing and computer skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
This position is 40 hours per week. Some Saturdays may be required.
Salary mid 30’s.
