Monday to Wednesday was crazy this week. Here’s me catching up.
One Thing I Love: NYU Local
NYU Local is an online newspaper that covers both NYU topics as well as national news.
Not to set off a flame war or anything, but I actually prefer their work to that of the Washington Square News (and NYU Local will link to anything worthwhile that WSN comes up with anyway). Never was this divide in quality more visible than with the recent TBNYU! protests in Kimmel. NYU Local drew huge numbers of readers to their wonderful live coverage (including a fantastic embedded journalist, while I didn’t really hear anything about WSN (I believe they had someone inside too, but they definitely did not take advantage of it). All in all, NYU Local is a great way to keep up with things here on campus and i highly recommend it.
One Thing I Hate: This URL
That’s really easy to remember. We hear at the U-Hall Blog realize that finding us is not the easiest of tasks, which is why we turn to you, the students. In the coming week, we will be announcing a contest to hopefully find a better URL. Your job is simple, find an available domain name that is fitting for the blog and if we choose it, you will win a wonderful prize (announcements coming next week). Get hunting, so we can be found.
