The Annual Oscarfest Begins

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON
FROST/NIXON
MILK
THE READER
SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

Which will win this year’s Oscar for Best Picture?

Check out these films and more with U-Hall's Faculty Fellows.

What is Oscarfest? This is an opportunity for up to 20 students to join one or more of U-Hall’s Faculty Fellows at the five movies nominated for Best Picture, plus a few movies with nominations in other categories.

After each movie, we will regroup back in the C Lounge for dessert and a Talk-Back in which we typically cover everything from why we liked the movie or the performance to “What was that about?”

You'll have additional opportunities to weigh in at the Oscarfest site:
http://oscarfest.blogspot.com.

Leave comments under the posts for the categories that interest you. Each comment will constitute an entry in our Oscarfest contest and in our end-of-the-year iPod giveaway. One commenter each week will receive a $25 gift card to Virgin Records.

We'll be adding DVDs of films nominated in a variety of categories to the U-Hall Video Library (these are listed on the Oscarfest site.) And We'll be holding an Oscar prediction contest on the weekend of February 20.

The following outings and showings in the Commons are planned:

Fri. Jan 30: Doubt
