Congrats to Katie Jacoby for winning U-Hall’s UVL last night. And thanks to everyone who showed up or performed. It was a lot of fun. And in response to a question on the blog, we do indeed have heat in our rooms here. If yours is not working, then you should contact maintenance.
One Thing I Love: Will Ferrell’s Return
So Will Ferrell is coming to Broadway in January in a one man show written by Adam McKay (Anchorman) and Ferrell. We got a great preview last night on SNL Thursday Night Election Update.
One Thing I Hate: High School Musical 3 (and 2 and 1)
What is wrong with you people? Why would you watch this? Why? This is entertainment? It’s for 7-12 year olds, and it’s too genuine to be ironic. So what I don’t understand is how is it that there are college kids going to see this, if not ironically? If you legitimately just like the cutesy stuff why aren’t you watching Pushing Daisies? My head hurts trying to understand this. I can’t believe it.

Well, High School Musical has this cutesy appeal to it that is HIGHLY MARKETED. Capitalized. Pushing Dasies isn't. And besides, what's wrong with simple, stupid pleasures?

Just so you know, I'm the biggest 21-year-old fan of HSM...don't let the kids ruin it for you! I've gone to a HSM movie party/dance-a-long with my 21-year-old friends too.

/gag at High School Musical. It's a tragedy.
I spent the afternoon watching TV online - 30 Rock, Pushing Daisies, Ugly Betty, and Desperate Housewives - all for the first time. Have to say, the first three were surprisingly good. And I watched Always Sunny.. for the first time a few days ago, which I thought was okay.
Now I'm going to kill time watching historic campaign ads on Hulu/The living room candidate - personal favorites: "I like Ike," "I love the Gov," and the one with the girl and the daisy. Heart weekend.
