FOURTH FLOOR FOODIES PRESENTS …
This week’s theme is TOAST! And we have three yummy recipes for you.
Peanut Butter Waffle Toast
It’s super easy, it’s delicious, and you probably already have everything you need.
“My mom has made this for me since I was little and it’s delicious. For a while we were even thinking of opening up a PEANUT BUTTER WAFFLE TOAST restaurant, where we would offer different kinds of bread, peanut butter and syrups so that people got adventurous.” — Aari Reich, a Fourth Floor Foodie.
Ingredients:
Bread (Russian Rye preferable) Peanut Butter Maple Syrup (toaster)
- Toast Bread
- Slather peanut butter onto toast
- Generously drizzle maple syrup onto toast 4. ENJOY!
When you have a bit more time in the morning and you feel like giving the cereal bowl a break.
“For me, this one beats pancakes, waffles and any other fluffy carb you might find at a breakfast buffet. If I want something special for breakfast that I KNOW is going to hit the spot, french toast is my best bet. Everyone may have their own little twist on how they make it, and I’ll be honest, my recipe is pretty simple. But I always end up making seconds.”
Ingredients:
Sliced bread (choose whole grains!) A few eggs A splash of milk Cooking spray or butter Toppings: Syrup, powdered sugar, berries, peaches, etc.
- Whisk 2 eggs and a splash of milk together in a dish. A dish with a flat bottom works best.
- Heat up a pan on the stove, at just below medium heat. Spray some cooking spray or melt some butter in the pan.
- Place a slice of bread in the liquid mixture and let it soak up the egg for a few seconds.
- Use a fork and flip the bread over and allow the other side to soak for a few seconds. If the fork just tears a huge whole in your bread, that may be a sign that you let it soak for too long. It really will still taste wonderful, it just won’t be as pretty.
- Quickly use your fork to transfer the bread to the pan. Let it cook for about 1min. on one side. Then use a spatula to peak and see if the toast has started to become golden brown. If not, give it more time; if so, flip it!
- Repeat the process until you have all the french toast you desire, whisking up some more eggs as you need them.
And finally, decorate your french toast with your favorite toppings. I go for the syrup and the fruit. Ugh. It just melts in your mouth.
This one was found, by Sheila, on an online food blog. It looks amazing. And easy. Impress your friends.
