FOURTH FLOOR FOODIES PRESENTS ...

The Fourth Floor Explorations community, Taking a Bite Out of the Big Apple, is a group of 45 people living on the 4th floor, who would like you to know that we are all completely enamored.

With food.

We all love it, some of us study it, many of us make it, and everyone eats it. And we're willing to bet, that you do, too. So we decided to share our passion with the rest of U-Hall with an online cookbook. We'll show you ours if you show us yours. Easy, sweet, savory, advanced -- we'll take them all! What do the Fourth Floor Foodies do?

As an explorations floor, will spend many nights throughout the year exploring the culinary wonders of New York City through our stomachs. With trips to the outer boroughs, walks to Chinatown and Little Italy, and potlucks-galore in our very own residence hall, our schedules are booked with plans to taste, appreciate and enjoy a variety of gastronomic adventures.

Key Lime Pie

From the kitchen of Josh Haunschild, a Fourth Floor Foodie


So, what's so special about Key Lime Pie?

Josh says: "Key lime pie, its just an old family recipe on my dad's side. My grandma makes these little delicacies all the time when I go visit. (I usually eat an entire pie in the span of a couple of days.) Good simple food that doesn't take too much effort, but is tasty. If you want to change it up a little bit, I might suggest slicing up strawberries and placing them on top of the pie." [This recipe has been tested and approved by Josh's roommates.]

4 oz Lime juice
8 oz Cool whip
1 Can condensed sweetened milk (10oz)
1 Graham cracker pie crust

1. Stir lime juice, cool whip and milk together
2. Pour into pie crust
3. Put it in the refrigerator and let the pie sit for an hour
4. Serve chilled
5. Devour.
