Twelve faculty representing eight different schools and departments have agreed to use the new version 8.0 of the Blackboard software in their courses this Fall 2008 semester as part of an organized beta-test. The current plan is to upgrade NYU Blackboard, NYU's most widely used learning management system (LMS), to version 8.0 and to have that version ready for new course sites in preparation for the Spring 2009 semester. As part of the upgrade project and in general to help the NYU community share ideas and opinions about NYU Blackboard, ITS has initiated an online email forum for people using Blackboard at NYU called "blackboard-discussion."
