S Korean scientist caught faking breathrough research

Hey guys, I just found an interesting article on a Korean scientist who is making up data on his stem-cell research. Later on, people found out that the paper that he has written is bogus. People should not base solely on what people tell them. Instead, they should test them or extract information from different sources.

Argentine firm to export bovine genetics to China

I came across an interesting article that talks about how Argentina is helping China to develop a new brand of meat. Argentina is going to do this by setting up breeding farms that will send embryos, semen, technology and Argentine cattle to reproduce with local bovine.

Trawl of two groups' genes shows differences

This article was appealing to me because it talks about how different racial groups of people react to certain kinds of drugs differently. They did multiple of experiments and found some interesting results.

Scientists Synthesize a Genome From Scratch

I came across an exciting article that talks about how researchers rebuild an entire genome from scratch. One team, Smith and Venter's team, talks about the process of creating it and how the hard work will pay off.

Scientists Create First Synthetic Bacterial Genome -- Largest Chemically Defined Structure Synthesized In The Lab

I read an interesting article that talks about how a team of seventeen researchers has created the biggest man-made DNA structure. The team achieved this by chemically making DNA fragments in the lab and developing new ways for the assembly and reproduction of the DNA segments.

Indian DNA links to 6 'founding mothers'

Hey guys! I found an interesting article of how six women left a particular DNA legacy that continues in about ninety-five percent of Native Americans today.

'Rare' tiger snapped in China is circus escapee

I found an intriguing article of how a photographer spotted a rare South China tiger. It is the most endangered of the tiger species. There are fewer than a hundred left in the world and sixty of them are held in captivity.

Genes help explain post-trauma puzzle

I found an exciting article that talks about how genes might be able to explain the complex post-trauma problems. Researchers found that survivors of child abuse were more likely to have symptoms of post-traumatic stress as adults if they also had specific variations in a stress-related gene.

Cloned cells treat Parkinson's in mice

I came across an intriguing article that explains how some scientists were testing embryonic stem cells on mice to see if they can cure the Parkinson's disease. But they found that a mouse's own cloned stem cells were extremely less disruptive to its body than cloned cells taken from the other mice.

DNA paternity testing kit goes on sale for 30 dollars

Hey guys! I found an intriguing article that talks about how a Collection Kit went on sale at the 4,363 Rite Aid drug stores throughout the United States, except New York. The catch is that it costs a hundred and nineteen dollars extra to mail the saliva to the Identigene laboratory for analysis. Why would people pay that much? This can help people find the father of their child; including unborn children and people looking for their parents.

Genetic underpinnings of schizophrenia revealed

When I was online, I came across an interesting article that explains how schizophrenia may be caused by many different mutations in many different genes that disrupt biological pathways. Scientists have struggled to grasp the main causes. Discoveries suggest a huge amount of different glitches in many genes could be the cause for schizophrenia. Furthermore, other researchers found that DNA deletions and duplications that disrupt genes are far more common in schizophrenia. This is an example of complex trait.
