Hey, to those who have not interviewed someone in the DSNY, I highly recommend the experience. John Manley, the foreman of the Bronx 2 Garage is a lively, talkative and kind guy who made us feel at home and told us much more than we expected.
Alex is being too modest about his pictures; I think they are great! And as part of our wish list for the exhibition, we were thinking about the possibility of making brief interviews (10 to 20 seconds each), where we would go around a garage and ask people something like: what does the DSNY mean to you, in a few words?
We have to think of the right question yet, but the idea is to elicit diverse brief statements about the experience of the Department of Sanitation's workers on the job. Like an audio collage of testimonies.

Hey Sandra,
I am afraid we are getting carried away with the extra space needs, but it would be great to have it as a soundscape, in my opinion.

Maria Joe,
I love this idea. Maybe we could have this as a soundscape or as a seperate audio station somewhere in the exhibition space.
