Hi guys, just a few reminders and general check ins about the upcoming few weeks.
FIRST: I've looked through your initial drafts and I'm very excited. I think you've all been doing EXCELLENT work and that the exhibition is going to be a resounding success!
SECOND, a few reminders:
1. Make sure you back-up your oral histories if you aren't uploading directly to the archive.
2. When uploading to the archive use the description-notes field to comment on the state of the copyright statement (e.g. first stage signed pending authorisation to use in archive). We can upload to the archive pending their authorisation but we can't use the material or make it public until the consent form is signed in full.
3. Next week we'll go over your layout and text and you should submit your final versions burned onto disk the following day (thursday) by 4.00 so you have time to incorporate any changes we might discuss in class.
Start getting together a wish list of other material you might like to put into the exhibition as we do have space (see below) and think about snagging any good mongo you might come aross in the street in the next few days, plus taking some of your own images if you feel you have time (high resolution please!).
4. Remember - we still expect a narrative of research from you by the end of term which will include the text for the exhibition and a summary of your work and overview of how you came to focus on the key issues you did. This can still be done as a pair.
The Space:
It looks humble but it's a large room, 25 ft by 17 ft, which will be emptied of its clutter (we'll keep one of the large tables) and painted - we need to chose a colour - and floors buffed up and so on...
we'll be able to get into the space during a class time and brainstorm the curating - in the meantime if anything speaks to you and you have ideas about the space - leave comments below!
Everything is falling very rapidly into place - you're all doing STELLAR jobs - Robin and I are really thrilled - so a big pat on the back to everyone, thanks for all your hard work!
Comments (2)
Hi all,
I think the top of the lockers is a very interesting space that we could use to display objects (not valuable), maybe mongo as some have already suggested, or perhaps something more conceptual, maybe working on Mierle's pieces, ask for gloves or boots ( or any other element that signals presence through absence and evokes live bodies and labor, here maybe Robin can help think of "stuff". Cops have coffee and donuts... sanmen/women, have x?)

Sorry - I have no idea why these images aren't all the right way around - I saved them correctly - it must be a bug in the system - hope you can see clearly!
