Here are the visual effects for Cellphone Blues
the graphic outline of the main character was rendered by skipping 2 frames to give it a more traditional animation look.

Here is the style frame for the cell phone project. It shows the graphic animation effect that will transform her when she dials the number on her cell phone.
The background shows the cafe tables in a park setting. The actress has been treated with an outline overlay and has a posterized coloring in her face. A glow was added to the cell phone that will be tracked to the phone's motion.

Some of the screen direction in the script indicate John's POV while he is looking for Jane, I'll have to experiment with some different camera angles on location. I may also shoot the interior of Jane's apartment as a still photograph and then do the zoom out in post.
Below is the Program Treatment for "Cell Phone Blues"
It describes some of the goals of the project. I'm looking forward to shooting the greenscreen setups and applying the effects to the footage.

I have decide to pursuit the cell phone idea with a graphic silhouette style
Below are three possible styles I would like to explore for the final look of the project
I like the heavy outline on these characters that is used to define their features
The simple silhouettes and graphic shapes works well with the monochromatic color pallette
The pencil sketch style has an organic feel that still shows detail
Below are three different possible concepts for my final project. I prefer the "cell phone" project idea because it will give me a chance to try and emulate the look of the iPod commercials.
-------------------------
Theme: Cell Phone
Technique: Silhouette
Description: A person makes a call on their cell phone. As the call is connected, the person changes to a silhouette outline animation.
-------------------------
Theme: Graffiti
Technique: Rotoscoping
Description: A graffiti artist travels through the city leaving his tag behind. The graffiti
"paint" will be rotoscoped and tracked digitally.
-------------------------
Theme: Motorcycles
Technique: Morph
Description: A motorcyclist drives down the street as his bike morphs between
different motorcycle designs. The rider will shot separately than the bikes to appear
consistent while the bikes change.
