Under the direction of a Senior Social Worker and/or Supervisor, or his/her designee, provides social work services to children and adolescent patients and their families using various social work methods, including individual, group and family counseling. These functions are performed under general supervision, necessitating the ability to exercise independent and sound judgment.<br>

<strong>Illustrative Examples of Work*</strong><br>
<ul>
•	Participates with interdisciplinary team members in developing and implementing program policies and procedures and preventing crises.<br>
•	Assesses the social and emotional needs of patients.<br>
•	Provides direct counseling/social services to students referred by self, health team, faculty, administration and other school ancillary staff.<br>
•	Tracks and follows up on all referrals made in and out of school.<br>
•	Coordinates social work services and patient referrals between the program and other agencies providing social and educational services in both the school and local community. <br>
•	Establishes referral network/linkages with outside agencies for both students and parents.<br>
•	Participates and occasionally presents at teacher meetings, assemblies, etc.<br>
•	Serves as an advocate for patients' rights within the clinic and serves as a mediator between parents, child and school.<br>
•	Remains available for crisis intervention social work as the need arises or arranges for such coverage by emergency social services. <br>
•	Records professional assessments, identifies problems, treatment plans and progress notes as required by NYSOMH regulations, policies and procedures, and the Children's Aid Society.<br>
•	Attends all weekly clinical meetings (e.g. Utilization Reviews, Disposition, Administrative).<br>
•	Ensures that all patients, visitors, guests, as well as co-workers, receive personalized, prompt attention and are treated with receptiveness, dignity and respect, no matter how limited the contact.<br>
•	Will operate the on-call emergency phone on a rotating basis.<br>
•	Implements philosophy and objectives of program.<br>
•	Performs other related duties, as required.<br>

We are now interviewing new Group Facilitation Consultants for our direct service programs for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 academic years, especially those who are bilingual in English/Spanish. <br> 
<br> 
 <strong>RESPONSIBILITIES: </strong><br> 
<ul>
•	Actively participate in Girls Inc. Westchester Program Training. 3-day interactive training in Girls Inc. curricula and content, educational philosophy, and youth development principles. Successful participants will become Certified Educators for Girls Inc. of Westchester.<br> 
•	Implement weekly workshops using Girls Inc. curricula, with a group of 10-20 girls at host sites in White Plains, Port Chester, Yonkers, and other communities in Westchester. <br> 
•	Complete administrative tasks such as attendance, consent forms, surveys and reports. <br> 
•	Submit evaluations and reports as outlined by program staff.<br> 
•	Attend regular supervision with Girls Inc. of Westchester program staff. <br> 
</ul><br> 
<strong> COMMITMENT:</strong><br> 
<ul> 
•	The 20-hour (3-day) Program Training is scheduled to take place January 9-11, 2009. <br> 
•	Some Girls Inc. programming takes place as  weekly groups that meet two hours, once per week for 10 weeks during the semester, Monday-Thursday between 3:00pm and 7:00pm. We also run 1-2 hour one-time workshops, as well as some evening and one-day Saturday workshops.<br> 
•	Certified Educators may facilitate 1 or more groups or workshops this academic year, with the possibility of adding additional groups next year.  <br>

      <![CDATA[<strong> Additional Qualifications:</strong><br>

•	Must have high school diploma or equivalent, college experience is a plus. <br> 
•	Must obtain Girls Inc. of Westchester Educator Certification through participation in the Training. <br> 
•	Must have some experience working with youth in a group setting. <br> 
•	Must be able to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including girls ages 9-18, parents, principals, teachers and other community leaders. <br> 
•	Must be a feminist team-player with a can-do attitude and the ability to work independently, as well as deliver programs with a co-facilitator. <br> 
•	Flexible work hours with the ability to travel using own car. <br> 
•	Previous knowledge and/or willingness to be trained in the following topics is a plus: health, wellness, sexuality, pregnancy prevention, personal finance, economic literacy, media literacy or video production. <br> 
•	Fluency and ability to deliver programs in Spanish is a plus. <br>

POSITION: Director of Outpatient Mental Health Clinic<br>

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Director will be responsible for the overall clinical and administrative operation of an NYS-OMH Article 31 Outpatient Mental Health Clinic.  Responsible for the provision of quality mental health services to individual, children and families (Comprehensive Outpatient Program services (COPS) and specialty clinic-to provide services to SED children). Training and supervision of staff. Maintain quality control of case records, reports, and statistics. Oversee preparation for all program audits. Knowledge and ability to establish the necessary systems to  comply with NYS OMH & NYC-DOHMH (Comprehensive and COPS standards and regulations) certification requirements and Medicaid/Medicare documentation requirements; financial oversight within the program; facilities oversight; establishing and maintaining community/provider relationships; and participation in agency management and planning activities. Assist with the preparation of reports for contracts under city, and state funding sources. Ensure adherence to the agency’s Policies and Procedures re: Personnel, Operations, Finance, etc. Participate in the Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement activities. <br><br>

Presently I am looking to hire a Social Worker in my program.  TFC is an intensive case management program for children who have an Axis I diagnosis.  My program has a capacity for 40 children and 5 teams of workers serve eight children each.  Each team consists of a Social Worker (a Master's level worker) and a Sociotherapist (a Bachelor's level worker).  The teams work to coordinate services for each child surrounding the child's needs.  These needs include the following areas: mental health, education/employment, recreation, medical, etc. <br>

The Social Workers devise a treatment plan/ABC plan for each child and treat the targeted behaviors and issues, providing counseling to the child/youth, foster family and birth family.  The Social Worker works in collaboration with community systems to ensure the well being and safety of the child, as well as working towards permanency for the child.  Visits occur in the child/youth's home and school and in the community and office.  <br>

I am looking for an individual who is dedicated to the welfare of children and who exhibits motivation, commitment and caring.  This job requires sound writing and communication skills.  Bilingual staff is desirable to cater to our Spanish speaking parents and youth.  <br><br>]]>
