Matt Long in "26.2 or Die" by Glenn Osten Anderson
On June 15th Glenn Osten Anderson (Grad Film 2008) accepted the Webby
People's Voice Award for Best Sports Video for '26.2 or Die', a 7-part
direct to web documentary profiling injured FDNY firefighter Matt Long
as he attempts to finish the NYC Marathon. The series was produced for
the website of Runner's World Magazine. The low budget doc beat out
entries from Turner Sports, ESPN, HBO, Yahoo! Sports and the LA Times.
This was Glenn's second Webby Nomination -- he was previously
nominated for 'The Long Road', his thesis documentary (also themed
around the NYC Marathon) that was repackaged for web distribution
through MileSplit.com
Glenn is now a voting member of IADAS -- the academy responsible for
the Webby Awards.
He has built a career around developing and producing original video
and audio content for the web including jobs with CBS College Sports,
Britain's Guardian newspaper and most recently for Military.com
Here is a video documentary he recently produced for The Guardian
