Photography and Imaging 2

I don't care about shameless self-promotion. I can't figure out how to split my entries between this blog and my own. So I've decided to not decide and just promote both. I wrote a meaty entry over HERE just now so PLEASE check it out and comment comment comment comment so I don't feel like the boy in the plastic bubble (you too Erika and Mark!).

Don't ask me why, but these videos of Chet Atkins have been really inspiring me lately. I know it can be tough to get inspired for photo, so sometimes I just let different mediums do it for me. Chet Atkins is arguably the greatest guitarist to ever live. He was so technically talented yet never went overboard and stayed super tasteful. I think his work is beautiful and hopefully one day I will make photos that feel like his guitar playing, whatever that means.

Also, I'm a huge Tom Waits fan and he is the closest thing to the perfection that I know of. He is the one guy who I feel has never gotten lazy or stuck to an equation. I love every piece of his work and am constantly inspired by him. Here's a beautiful video of him playing on the Daily Show. Hope everyone is doing well and not too stressed. Tell me what you think of Chet and Tom, because I know they are a big stretch from a lot of your music tastes. I think all of us need to be sharing more of what inspires us! I know that sounds terribly cheesy, but we chose to go to this school and this department because we survive on being creative and inspired.
