Direction and Discipline

Direction is more productive than discipline.

Direction takes zero time and effort, to simply put a focus on one thing versus another, and requires no pre-existing motivation or discipline.  Disciplined and motivated behavior results from direction, a choice to consistently focus on one.

David Allen calls this productivity principle number 78.
