Last night I dreamed that we were walking thru this vacation spot, this fancy hotel, this private (yacht) club, (club med?) some exclusive vacation place, and walking towards the beach.  When we got a glimpse of the beach, it was beautiful, calm, colorful, but when we got to the edge of the water the waves came in and buried everything in sight.  My family stayed just out of reach of the deep waters, I stayed on a wall using my iPhone.  A threatening-looking guy asked me if that was the 'Sobero', referring to the iPhone/expensive phone device with a big screen, I said yes, he told his friends.  They started tossing back and forth a ball, which they then threw to me, I tossed it back and forth with them, until at one point they threw it out of my reach and over the wall.  I simply shrugged, unconcerned.

between the furniture's worn wood and my shame to be,
between the cotidian things and the extraordinary need to love

Tricked by an attractive color and the words "Tangerine / Juicy", I accidentally bought an energy drink, to accompany my turkey-and-swiss panini. No fair.

On the upside, the drink had guaraná root extract and gingko biloba extract.  I did not feel particularly energetic, however.

The buildings in the photo below are under repair by NYU.

I walked on Waverly Place to get some lunch (see what I got for lunch) and saw this building. I thought I'd have something to say about it, so here it is on my blog.

It occurs to me that this has been a fairly common sight around NYU for a while, and it seems like it's only going to happen more and more, given the space constrains acknowledged by the University leadership in the 2031 Plan. (see details about NYU's 2031 Plan).

I don't know the specific history of these buildings, I supposed someone somehwere does, but, wouldn't it be cool if there were some way to find that history online?  If there exists such a thing, and somebody out there knows about it, please drop me a line or a comment.

I know some time ago (am I carbon-dating myself) there used to be Eddie's, with the hugest burritos around, and Poppolini's.  They yielded some time later to NYU, which converted them partly as student swing space while Loeb Student Center was torn down and Kimmel Center for University Life was being built in its place.

I wonder what future use will be given to these buildings.

The world famous Cozy's Soup & Burger. 10oz burgers.  Curly fries.  Cheddar cheese. Lettuce, tomatoes, cole slaw, pickle. Condiments.  And 7-up.

On Saturday night I went to see Horton hears a Who at the Senator theater. It was a good movie for children. It was entertaining, it worked. One and one-half hours of rhyme and children's jokes, depending on your mood, may or may not be enough for an adult. For me, there was nothing better to do; the dog needed a break from me, and I from him.
