Hello all! :) 

I hope you're all having a great week so far.

As promised, this blog post will indeed be COLORFUL!

Well, to start...my baby is back!!...my laptop, that is...which means that life is back to normal and so far, this week has been pretty stress-free (unlike last week - don't even get me started!).

Today in "aural rehab", we had a guest speaker come and talk to us.  He works as an audiologist near my home town and spoke to us about all different aspects of aural rehabilitation and different types of hearing aid distribution.  He passed around various types of hearing aids to show us how they work and fit into a person's ear, as well as how hearing aids have progressed over time.  I thoroughly enjoyed today's lecture. 

One of my favorite line's that the guest audiologist used in order to help explain the field of audiology better was, "To me, ya know, audiology is about 30% science, and the rest of it is art".

I never thought for a second that a lecture about treating people who are Deaf or have varying degrees of hearing loss could be so...inspiring!  When clinicians within my anticipated field are invited to come and speak with us, it is always a real treat.

I attended a meeting last night because I am on the semi-committee, and believe me when I say this -- Steinhardt's Semi-Formal is going to be out of this world!  This swanky event will be catered by world renowned celebrity chef, Todd English --> Image courtesy of google...I've seen the menu...in fact, I helped pick it!  The food sounds and looks DECADENT!  And, of course, there will be awesome music and fantastic décor

to add on to a fun, swanky, and overall  unforgettable evening.


The Semi-Formal will be held from 8pm-11pm on Friday, February, 19, 2010, and tickets are currently being sold for $35 each.  Get them now!!! because I've been informed that there are ~75 left.  Now, there may be even less.  Tickets may be purchased at Ticket Central or online.  For more information (and pictures), e-mail USG or join the facebook group ("Steinhardt's Annual Semi-Formal at The W Hotel").

I'm so psyched for this event, and not just because I'm helping plan it!  I've already picked out my dress,shoes, jewelry...the whole bit.    Let's just say it's keeping me motivated!
