Casual Revolution: Reinventing Video Games and Their Players, out now on MIT
Press.
In this evening of debate, Jesper Juul (New York University Game Center) will
introduce the new book, followed by a panel discussion on the rise of casual
games and the future of video games. The panel will consist of Mia Consalvo
(MIT, author of Cheating), Nick Fortugno (Playmatics, formerly Gamelab) and
Wade Tinney (Large Animal)
Director Jos de Putter delves into the lives of competitive Warcraft III players.

The Indie Games panel will be a discussion of the design, development and culture surrounding independent games with three innovative and provocative indie developers: Anna Anthropy, Mark 'messhof' Essen, and Jonatan 'Cactus' Soderstrom.
Clint Hocking is a pioneering game designer whose work explores new directions for blending narrative and gameplay. He was the Creative Director on Far Cry 2 and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.
Noah Wardrip-Fruin is a prominent game scholar with a particular interest in the intersection of fiction and play.
